2012 Jeno Tihanyi LC Championships

Here is meet information for the 2012 Jeno Tihanyi LC Championships.   This year we are pleased to welcome Huronia clubs to this meet along with NEOR clubs.

The pool is located on Athletic Building Road at Laurentian University.  Click the link for a Google Map.  While some parking is available near the pool, ample parking is available in Lot 11.  Refer to the Campus Map.

Session Times

Preliminary session times are as follows. The meet is Long Course (50 m).

• Session 1 -- Friday, JUNE 8 (13 & Over) warm-up 1:00 pm, swim 2:00 pm
• Session 2 -- Friday, June 8 (12&Under) warm-up 5:00 pm, swim 6:00 pm
• Session 3 -- Saturday, JUNE 9 (13 & Over) warm-up 7:30 am, swim 8:30 am
• Session 4 -- Saturday, JUNE 9 (12 & Under) warm-up 12:00pm, swim 1:00 pm
• Session 5 Finals -- Saturday, JUNE 9(13 & Over) warm-up 5:30 pm, swim 6:30 pm
• Session 6 -- Sunday, JUNE 10 (13 & Over) warm-up 8:00 am, swim 9:00 am
• Session 7 -- Sunday, JUNE 10 (12 & Under, and 13&Over Finals) warm-up 12:30 pm, swim 1:30 pm

Session times:

• Session 1 - March 31, 2012- Saturday afternoon - 2:00 pm warm-up and 3:00 pm start !!! REVISED !!!
• Session 2 - April 1, 2012 - Sunday morning - 8:00 warm-up, 9:00 am start
• Session 3 - April 1, 2012 - Sunday ~afternoon - 20 minute warm-up after morning session ends.   Approximate time is ~1pm start.   800's approx end time TBD;   1500's approx end time TBD.

Volunteer sign-up

For a session (long-course) 3 timers/lane x 8 lanes = 24 timers.  Officials meet 45 minutes prior to start, usually in the back room near the south entrance to the Ben Avery (pool) building.

There are other duties: Strokes & Turns, Chief Timer, Clerk of Course, Chief Finish Judge, Electronics (Randy Hotta and the band), Starter, etc. for those are qualified.

1 hour prior to the session start 4 safety marshals are required on deck with those orange vests.  Session/meet refs are doing their job but won’t let swimmers into the pool for warm-up until the safety marshals are on deck.  So, don’t be too shy and offer your name please.

For those who want to volunteer for the kitchen, i.e. preparing and serving food, Janet Laliberté is the contact.

If you are looking for a deck evaluation, for timer or other position see the session referee prior to the start of the officials meeting.

Officials meeting start 30 minutes prior to the start of the session; please show up and check your name on the officials sheets 45 minutes prior so we know you are in the building.

If the maximum number of timers (3) are already signed up for a particular lane, pick another lane.  If you are a Head Lane Timer, please put HLT after your name and pick Lanes 2 or 4 or 6.  If you’re strokes & turns qualified you are a head lane timer (HLT).
